The IrisPhone is a piece of equipment Linda uses in DreadOut 2 (Game).
Description[]
“ | An ordinary budget and yet very durable phone with a long-lasting battery. With her supernatural abilities, Linda can make her phone become a medium to channel her powers to find secrets and banish ghosts. | ” |
–In-Game Description |
Similar to the first game, Linda uses the IrisPhone to combat ghosts, solve puzzles, and reveal things not normally seen by the human eye. However, it is no longer the only way for Linda to combat ghosts, as she can use weapons like a knife to combat them. The IrisPhone can only be used to battle intangible ghosts and taking pictures of physical ghosts will not work.
The IrisPhone is able to stun and knock back nearby enemies by holding the Flashlight button, which will release a bright pulse of light called Blitz Stun, similar to how the SLR worked in the first game. Flash Blitz will work on both intangible and physical enemies. The light can also be used to reveal secrets and solve puzzles.
In addition to new combat uses, the IrisPhone now has a variety of functions. Opening up the IrisPhone brings up the menu, to which has many apps that Linda can use.
- The Notes App is where Linda can see the objectives she has to complete as well as how many Urban Legends she has collected for Professor Mona after she unlocks the collection.
- The Ojol Bike Taxi App is used as a Quick Travel, to allow Linda to travel the open world, no matter where she is (though it does not work in certain locations).
- Messages is a way for Linda to contact NPCs, but it does not work for the majority of the game.
- Gallery is where Linda can see photos that she has taken with the IrisPhone. The Gallery only stores 16 images before periodically deleting the oldest image with every new picture Linda takes.
- Contact is a list of Linda's contacts, but it does not work for majority of the game.
- Inventory is where Linda can check what items she is carrying on her person. She can also see descriptions of all items she has in her possession.
- Ghostpedia is a returning feature from the first game, but it is stored in her phone instead of Linda's notebook. It functions similarly to way it works in the original game, having logs of all ghosts that Linda has defeated or appeased.
- How To Play is an app that teaches the player the controls and how to play the game.
Appearance[]
Unlike the IrisPhone in the first game, this IrisPhone is of a different color. The IrisPhone itself is white and has a pink cover. Like other phones, the phone is pink and has a front and back camera.
Linda appears to have a picture of herself in front of her door as a wallpaper, though the menu itself is transparent when the player opens it.
