The Haunting of Child is the ghost of a mischievous little girl that beckons Linda to play hide-and-seek in Room 105 in the game DreadOut.

Background[]
The best thing this girl remembers was playing hide and seek with her friends. Her persistence helps her excel at this game each time. She could hide forever in a place before her friends found her.
One day, this little girl and her friends played near the outskirts of her village. Naturally she went into the forest to find a good hiding spot, but what started as a sunny day suddenly changed into heavy rain. All of her friends decided to end the game early, and started to call for her. However, being a master at hiding, she refused, believing that it might be her friends trying to trick her into losing. For a long time she hid and before everything was too cold for her she eventually decided to leave. Unfortunately, the dark and heavy weather kept her from finding her way home as she headed deeper into the forest.

The child takes the form of a young girl with black hair, which is tied in a twin tail. She has pale white skin and her blurred face is in a gentle, but eerie smile. She wears a vintage knee-length grey dress.

Keepers of the Dark (DLC)[]
The Haunting of a Child will first appear upon leaving the house in the Deserted Surburbia, the same house Linda wakes up in a rocking chair in Act 0. She will invite Linda to a game of Hide and Seek and disappear as soon as she gives out the invitation.
If Linda manages to find the child twice, the girl will thank Linda for playing with her and she gives Linda 5 Charm Needles and disappears. Linda will also gain her Ghostpedia description. However, failing to find her, she will then instruct Linda to hide, before jump scaring the player regardless of Linda's location. Linda will not get the Charm Needles if she does not find the child, though she can reattempt to play the games again.

The Haunting of the Child is not a deadly ghost and will not send Linda to the limbo even if she doesn't participate in her game, but finding her will reward Linda with 5 Charm Needles, which are important in the fight against the Susuk Lady later, though it is not needed to defeat her, but will reward the player with an achievement.
The child has only two hiding spots:
- The 2nd Floor of the two story house beyond the stone wall
- Behind one of the houses of the suburbia behind a couple of boxes
Inside the bathtub.
The first hiding spot the child will pick is always random, so be ready to sprint to the other location if you don't find her in one of these spots. There is a hidden timer for Linda to find the child, so be quick as you can. If the child remarks that she is bored, then the time limit is almost up.
If Linda fails to find the child, she will be jump scared and crticially injured, but will not be sent to the limbo. If the player wishes to reattempt the game, they must return to the realm of Room 105 and go through the mirror again.
Trivia[]
- Going to the house first will cause her to glitch.
- Sometimes, at random occasions, the Child will initiate the jump-scare to you with a Kuntilanak face
- The child shares the same voice actor as the main protagonist, Linda.
